Valentine

So, what did I do on valentine? For the past several years, and including today, I am WORKING. I am just happy to take advantage of the valentine day. Why?
Restaurant is always busy with lovebirds, they dress very nice, & try to be good looking as much as possible.
For me, that's a 'special' or 'extra' or 'hidden' tip.
Yup. It's nice to see beautiful girls & serve them their dinner.
Now don't call me pervert because of that. I don't do anything else, just serving food and watch them to make sure they got what they need.
as for me, I'll get my tip and my 'hidden' tip.

Bye Bye American Dreams.

Since Im not going to be in The States anymore, I should switch my dream from American Dream to Indonesian Dream.
Hmmm... let me see the differences based on my perspective:

American Dream involves a house with garage & two cars.
Now may be added to it: big flat LCD screen TV, a super cozy recliner, lots lots of chips and coke (since I don't drink beer), and jacuzzi so I could have an option of enjoying football game on weekend on it. What? not by myself, with my family of course. and friends, sometimes.
What else?
Mmm... it may also involve a small indoor & outdoor swimmingpool, a hoop, a sauna, a pool table, a garden (so I could grow my flowers and put it in the middle of dinner table for my spouse, some tomatoes, strawberry, blueberry, apple, etc.).
And last but not least... to have a bank account with at least six or seven digits on it. :)

Well.. now let's move on to Indonesian Dream.
It could be very different from one person to one person.Because I grew up in a little town, it will be much simpler than someone who grew up in the big city.
but here is my Indonesian Dream:
one house in a small town, decent size, with one family car (normally used once in a week, for family purpose only), two scooters (one for me, one for my wife), a 'less stressful' job-most likely a government job, a normal TV, laundry washer, & refrigerator, and that's it.

hmm.. let me know if I missed something.

My Plan.

So, it's confirmed that I will be back this March to Indonesia.
March 4 or 5, leaving the Midwest for L.A.
(I said Midwest because I'm still not sure whether I'll leave from Chicago or St. Louis)
Then stay for about ten days with my girlfriends' sister family in L.A.

March 16, 1:20 am,
the Cathay Pacific Airlines will take me to Indonesia, including 10 hours transit in Hongkong.
March 17, 7:35 pm local time, I'll arrive in Surabaya.
It is hard to leave the States after I live here for almost seven straight years now, but I am optimistic that I will visit this country as much as I possibly can. Afterall, I feel that this is my 2nd home country. How can't it be? I have family, lots of friends, and last but not least... Da BEARS!! :)

I have to do what I have to do, especially when it comes to family. I am excited to see my Mom, and hope that my return will give her a boost for a speedy health recovery.

Once I am in Indonesia, then what???
Stay at home for sometimes, just being with my Mom, while also applying for job here and there. 'Hope I will get an excellent job, big bucks, hopefully the one I love, just like the one in Records Office.
Then, hopefully I can start a family as soon as possible (remember, I am 27 already!!! It's scary).
Then, try hard save some money as much as possible... so I can go back to States to visit or to continue my education (all the way to the end, if possible), with my little family.

It will be even better if the company will pay for the college education just like a lot of my friends and their family here in St. Louis.
Oh God, forgive me for asking too much! :)

Debbie, you've made my day!

I opened the store, turned on my computer this morning, did inventory, this and that, then opened my blog. How surprise I am when I read one of the comment was from someone that I would have never guess that she would read my blog. :) Plus, I haven't seen her for about 4 years now. Wow! Debbie, you've made my day!
hmm.. back in the old days of COD....
I was working a lot of hours in the transcript department. Summer was a full time 40 hours/week and the rest of year was 20 hours/week job: I think I spent more time with everyone in the Records office more than everyone else. More like a family.
What a wonderful memory..!
I pray that God bless all of them, take care, and love them. always.

Change.

Something that never change is 'change' itself once my friend told me when I leave Indonesia for the States.
Now I truly understand what that mean.

It's nice to see change, if it's for something better.
but it's scary to see change, if it's for something worse, or something that totally different.

oh.. how sad when the person that used to give you 'ilu' & 'imu' words... never do that again. Not even when you asked him/her. What should you do?
how sad when you know that your friends.. long time friends that you can express all the feeling freely, now giving you a 'line' where to express where not to.

I guess everybody just has to accept that something that never change is change itself, and move on.

The Power of DayDreaming.

Day dreaming makes you happy.
Day dreaming makes you grateful for you life.
Day dreaming can make the time slower & enjoyable.

I have been very busy as soon as I graduated from College of DuPage in December 2002. Since then I worked two jobs, restaurant at night and a full time position in a manufacturing company. No time for Day dreaming.
then, I go to SIUE, while also working in restaurant and records office. No time for Day dreaming.
Everything's going sooooo fast. I couldn't even remember some details of events that I should remember.

Before I was stuck in the 'rush' life, I used to have time to day dreaming. Usually before I sleep. I would remember all my beautiful, funny, silly, or just plain memorable memories with my friends and family. I would smile, thinking 'what a beautiful world', then fall asleep.

Now I think I've found what I've been missing.
